In 1939 the Schier Feed Store opened for business. F.J. Foytik was the first customer buying one sack of corn, one sack of maize, and one sack of wheat for a total of $5.65.  The store was enlarged in 1940. In 1950, railroad frontage property on Columbus Road was acquired for a mill site and grain elevators.   In 1956, a branch store was opened in Brookshire. In the mid 60’s, Schier Feed and supply opened the Sealy Grist Mill. On July 1st, 1969, Schier Feed & Supply became incorporated. In 1970 the corporation acquired the Sealy Feed Yard.-The Sealy News
